Honors Program Students to Present Original Theses

Eight OBU students will present original theses as part of the OBU Honors Program beginning on April 15. Presenters include Jordan Bowles, Jacob Collard, Charity Jernigan, Brandon Melton, Glen Quintana, Coltan Scrivner, Alex Shirley and Erin Tresch.
The presentations will conclude on May 1. Each presentation is intended to last approximately one hour, with time for the student to present the results of the study and respond to questions from the audience. The public is invited to all of the presentations. Projects like these reflect extensive and intense study and attention. Collectively, they represent an important commitment of the OBU community to careful study and quality writing.
Brandon Melton, a senior Biblical languages and anthropology double major from Oklahoma City, will present "There and Back Again: Mind-Body Dualism and a Quest for Biblical Soul" on Tuesday, April 15, at 4 p.m. in the AV Auditorium in the Mabee Learning Center.
Alex Shirley, a senior applied communication major from Edmond, Okla., will present "Thunderous Twitter Themes" on Thursday, April 17, at 3:30 p.m. in the Bailey Business Center Auditorium.
Jordan Bowles, a senior applied communications major from Edmond, Okla., will present "The Noble Complex: An Analysis of Christian Collegiate Sports Fan Behavior" on Tuesday, April 22, at 4 p.m. in the AV Auditorium in the Mabee Learning Center.
Coltan Scrivner, a senior anthropology major from Noble, Okla., will present "Stress: A Biocultural Appraisal" on Wednesday, April 23, at 4 p.m. in the AV Auditorium in the Mabee Learning Center.
Charity Jernigan, a senior applied communication major from Haskell, Okla., will present "Where Communication Acts Intersect the Soul" on Thursday, April 24, at 3:30 p.m. in the Bailey Business Center Auditorium.
Glen Quintana, a senior graphic design major from Oklahoma City, will present "The Graphic Design of Instructional Materials" on Tuesday, April 29, at 4 p.m. in the AV Auditorium in the Mabee Learning Center.
Erin Tresch, a senior anthropology major from Tulsa, Okla., will present "Saving Languages: Sociocultural Identity, Language Obsolescence, and Revitalization" on Wednesday, April 30, at 4 p.m. in the AV Auditorium in the Mabee Learning Center.
Jacob Collard, a senior biology major from Shawnee, Okla., will present "The Promontory: A Creative Writing Thesis" on Thursday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m. in the Bailey Business Center Auditorium.
