Gore and Hopkins to Perform Junior Recital April 24

OBU students Sarah Gore and Benjamin Hopkins will perform their junior recital Thursday, April 24, at 8:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Yarborough Auditorium on the OBU campus. The community is invited to attend the free event.
During the performance, Gore and Hopkins will be assisted by Graham Jones, viola; Sandra Meyer, staff accompanist on piano; and Dr. Keith Whitmore, assistant professor of music and staff accompanist on piano.
The recital will include works by Kreisler, Bach, and Dvorak, performed by Gore. Hopkins will perform works by Handel, Chausson, Curtis, and Gounod.
Gore is an instrumental music education major from Bartlesville, Okla. The daughter of Allan and Lynnette Gore, she is from the studio of Hannah Murray, adjunct professor of violin.
Hopkins is a vocal performance major from Bartlesville, Okla. The son of Creth and Rhonda Hopkins, he is from the studio of Dr. Mark McQuade, assistant professor of music.
Gore serves as secretary for the National Association for Music Education; librarian for OBU's Bisonettes Glee Club; and a member of the Shawnee OBU Community Orchestra. Upon graduation, she plans to conduct a collegiate level orchestra and train future teachers.
Hopkins is a member of OBU's University Chorale and the OBU Touring Opera. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a graduate degree in vocal performance.
