Dowler to Present Senior Recital April 28

OBU student Haylee Dowler will perform her senior recital Monday, April 28, at 8:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Yarborough Auditorium. The community is invited to attend the free event.
Dowler is a vocal music education major from Bixby, Okla. The daughter of Wayne and Marcy Dowler, she is from the studio of Mark McQuade, OBU assistant professor of music.
The recital will be comprised of selections from Mozart, Debussy, Handel and others. During the performance, Dowler, a soprano, will be assisted by Sara Martin, a soprano; Terry Banks, a guitarist; and Dr. Keith Whitmore, assistant professor of music / staff accompanist, on piano.
Dowler has received the President's Academic Scholarship; earned the Voice Scholarship; and been named to the President's and Dean's Honor Roll.
During her time on Bison Hill, she has been involved with Kappa Delta Pi; the Mortor Board Honor Society; the Bisonettes Women's Glee Club, where she served as secretary; the University Chorale; Sigma Alpha Iota, where she served as Sergeant at Arms; and the National Association for Music Educators, where she served as vice president.
She has performed in OBU's production of "The Marriage of Figaro," "Brigadoon," "Street Scene," and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat".
Following graduation, Dowler plans to use her degree to teach music and share the love of Jesus with others. She will serve on a mission trip in Uganda this May.
