Pastor Tony Rhone Brings Message of Brokenness to Chapel Service
February 19, 2014
Pastor Tony Rhone of Galilee Baptist Church in Shawnee brought a powerful message during the OBU Chapel service on Feb. 19.
Rhone's message centered on "brokenness," following the theme for the spring semester's series of chapel services, "Blessed are the Broken." Rhone preached from 1 Corinthians 12:7-10. Rhone spoke of Paul's boasting in his weakness not in his accomplishments.
"In Christ your brokenness can be healed. In Christ your insufficiency can be made complete by the sufficiency of Christ. And in Christ your weakness can be blessed with the shadowing power of God as you continue to live and to serve Him," Rhone said.
Rhone is the pastor of Galilee Baptist Church in Shawnee and has been in that position since 2006. Before being called to Galilee Baptist, he was assistant-to-the-pastor at Fairview Baptist Church in Oklahoma City from 2004 to 2006. Rhone received his master of arts from American Bible College and Seminary in 2006 and his bachelor of business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1997, majoring in management information systems.
When he's not preaching or serving at the church, Rhone enjoys spending time with his wife LaShai, and his daughter Tonia, as well as playing golf, reading, traveling and cooking.
