Two Faculty Members Join College of Fine Arts

OBU's Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts has added two new faculty members beginning with the fall 2012 semester. Ryan Meeks is an instructor of music, and Tyler Welker is an assistant professor of video, motion graphics and animation.
Meeks served as an executive board member of the East Central Oklahoma Band Directors Association from 2008-10, and is currently a member of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education, the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, the International Horn Society, and the College of Music Society.
Welker joined the OBU faculty at the start of the fall 2013 semester. He earned a bachelor's degree in digital media arts from Huntington University, and a master's degree in 3-D animation and visual effects from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Calif.
He has most recently served as owner and digital media artist of Infused Digital Media, Inc. in Huntington, Ind. He previously served as digital media arts adjunct professor and digital media arts visiting professor at Huntington University.
Welker is proficient in a wide array of digital software and media arts practices. He has been distinguished with numerous awards and honors, including the Huntington University Gold Addy Award for Directing in 2013, the Huntington University Communications Department Award in 2008, and first place for Short film in the TV Entertainment Feature category of the 2007 College State Awards for the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters.
