Potts Promoted to Director of Admissions
July 2, 2013
Rachel Potts has been promoted to director of the OBU Admissions Team, with the new role effective Aug. 1.
Potts joined OBU's admissions staff in 2009 as an admissions counselor, and she was promoted from admissions counselor to assistant director of admissions in August 2011.
"Rachel has added value to our admissions team from her very first day," said Bruce Perkins, dean of enrollment management. "Her enthusiasm, work ethic, leadership and commitment to excellence is contagious. These traits and skills have only grown stronger as her areas of responsibility have increased over these past four years. I have no doubt the university will benefit from her leadership as director of admissions and continue to reach students who need the transformational ministry of OBU. I look forward to her service on the Enrollment Management Team in her new role."
Potts grew up in Ponca City, Okla., and graduated from Oklahoma State University in May 2009. She has worked toward an MBA degree through the OBU Graduate School, which she anticipates completing in September.
As director of admissions, Potts will be directly responsible for leading the Admissions Team in the accomplishment of new student enrollment goals, Perkins said. The task involves the daily operation of the Admissions Office, as well as strategic planning for the future and the administration of university resources.
