asRecreation and Wellness Center to Offer Swim Lessons
April 26, 2013
The OBU Recreation and Wellness Center will continue a long-time partnership with instructors Mark Ruiz and Marian Salwierak to provide swimming lessons this summer for children ages 4 and older.
Registration for swimming lessons is Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the OBU Recreation and Wellness Center (RAWC) on University Drive. Attendees may want to arrive at 9 a.m. to obtain a place in line.
During registration, the instructional staff will test and monitor each child for proper class level placement. At that time, parents can register for the specific session and class time. Children should wear a swimsuit to registration for the swimming assessment.
Classes for children ages 4 and 5 will run for two-week sessions: May 28-June 10; and June 17-28. The cost is $45 per session.
Classes for children ages 6 and older will run for one-week sessions: June 3-7; June 10-14; and June 17-21. The cost is $25 per session.
The lessons will take place in OBU's temperature-controlled pool which supports a salt water filtration system. Classes will begin at 10 a.m.
