Barns to Exhibit Senior Art Show April 13-18
April 10, 2013
OBU student Diana Barns, a senior graphic design major from Denton, Texas, will display her art pieces in an upcoming show debuting April 13 on the OBU campus. The community is invited to view the exhibit.
Barns' show will be exhibited April 13-18 in the OBU Art Building, located in the southeast corner of OBU's campus. On Saturday, April 13, she will host a reception at 9:30 p.m. in the Art Building, immediately following OBU's "Spring Affair" talent show in Potter Auditorium.
The exhibit will showcase various types of Barns' work completed during the past four years, mostly graphic design pieces including logos, advertising, package design and poster design. She also will display fine art pieces such as charcoal drawings, paintings, ceramics and photography.
"I find my inspiration in the natural beauty of my surroundings, from everyday activities and conversations," Barns said of her original works. "I believe the art skills I have learned at OBU have prepared me for a career in graphic design and have taught me how to think more creatively."
Barns will graduate from OBU in May 2013, and she said she hopes to begin working in graphic design in Denton following graduation.
