Art Club Auction Goes Live on Nov. 23
November 16, 2012
OBU's Art Club hosts an annual auction to provide Shawnee-area residents a unique Christmas-shopping opportunity while supporting their local budding artists. This year's auction will be available worldwide as the auction is hosted online via Facebook beginning Friday, Nov. 23.
Click here to go to the event on Facebook (or search "OKBU art club" on Facebook). The auction begins at midnight Friday, Nov. 23, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26.
Pieces to be auctioned typically include drawings, paintings, photographs, prints, pottery, stained glass and graphic designs created by OBU art students and faculty members.
"You may begin bidding just after midnight, Friday, Nov. 23, to tie into 'Black Friday,'" said Julie Blackstone, OBU assistant professor of arts. "These reasonably priced, one-of-a-kind art objects will make great Christmas gifts."
The OBU Art Club auction traditionally helps fund the Dowdy/Reavis senior show grants to help senior art majors with a portion of their art show expenses. Funds also are used to help cover the Blitz Week Paint-a-thon expenses, as well paying for trips to various art museums.
