Ezell to Bring Chapel Address Oct. 24

Dr. Kevin Ezell, president of the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, will speak during a weekly chapel service Wednesday, Oct. 24, at OBU. The community is invited to attend the 10 a.m. service in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium.
Ezell provides strategic vision, direction and leadership as the North American Mission Board works with state partners to help Southern Baptists reach North America through evangelism and evangelistic church planting.
Born in Germany where his father served in the U.S. Air Force, Ezell earned his bachelor's degree from Union University in Jackson, Tenn. He received a master's degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and a doctorate of ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
Ezell most recently served as senior pastor of Highview Baptist Church in Louisville for 14 years. He also has served as pastor of First Baptist Church Marion, Ill.; First Baptist Church, Hartsville, Tenn.; and Hilltop Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
He and his wife, Lynette, have six children: Anna, Shelly, Taylor, John Michael, Libby and Micah Lyn. The three youngest children were adopted from three different countries. Ezell enjoys golf, basketball and attending sporting events.
NAMB exists to work with churches, associations and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church planting.
