Marchbanks to Present Senior Vocal Recital April 16

Stephanie Marchbanks, a soprano from Overland Park, Kan., will present her senior vocal recital Monday, April 16, at 8:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Yarborough Auditorium at OBU. The public is invited to attend the performance.
Marchbanks, a vocal music education major, is the daughter of Noel and Lisa Marchbanks. She is from the studio of Dr. Louima Lilite, assistant professor of music. She will be assisted in her recital by Dr. Keith Whitmore, university accompanist, on piano.
The program will include works by Vincenzo Bellini, Gioacchino Antonio Rossini, Robert Schumann, Samuel Barber and Emmanuel Chabrier.
During her time on Bison Hill, Marchbanks has been a four-year member of the Bisonettes, OBU's women's glee club. She also is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, and she has served as recording secretary for two years. Additionally, she is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, National Honor Society, and University Chorale, a mixed choral group at OBU.
Marchbanks has been named to the President's Honor Roll and Dean's Honor Roll. She has received numerous music, endowed and academic scholarships. She participated in OBU Opera Theatre's "The Marriage of Figaro" in 2011. Recently, she was chosen to sing the National Anthem at the 2012 NAIA Men's Basketball Tournament in Kansas City, Mo.
Following graduation in May, Marchbanks plans to move to Kansas City to teach preschool, record an album and work in field supervision at a baseball complex.
