Hunter, a musical arts major with a voice emphasis, is the daughter of Mike and Cindy Hunter. She is from the studio of Dr. Louima Lilite, assistant professor of music. She will be assisted in her recital by Sandra Meyer, retired associate professor of music, on piano, and Olivia Johnson on violin.
The first portion of the program will include works by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Hahn, Debussy, Bizet, Granados and Obradors. Following a brief intermission, the program will continue with works by Menotti, Rachmaninoff, Sondheim and Porter.
The audience is invited to a reception in Raley Chapel room 142 immediately following the recital.
During her time on Bison Hill, Hunter has been a four-year member of the Bisonettes, OBU's women's glee club, where she has served as historian and librarian. She also is a member of Anna's Prayer. She is the chief photographer for the Yahnseh, OBU's yearbook.
She has served at the North Haiti Music Camp and the Resonate worship arts camp, hosted by OBU and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. She has participated in several musical and theatrical performances on and off campus, including performing as "Maggie" in OBU Theatre's production of "Brigadoon" as well as productions at Shawnee Little Theatre.
Following graduation in May, Hunter plans to pursue a career in photography, dance and journalism. She also hopes to teach music on the mission field.
