New Staff Join Bison Hill Employees

OBU has announced several new employees in recent weeks, including new residential life and administrative staff members. Five have joined the OBU University Police Department, and two staff members have gone from part-time positions to full-time work on Bison Hill.

Rebecca George was named residence director of Taylor Residence Center and West University Apartments, effective July 25. George earned a bachelor's degree from Samford University, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Spanish language and literature and a minor in religion. She earned a master's degree from Beeson Divinity School and has completed additional graduate work at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She has worked as a writer, editor and research assistant since 2000.
Mautia Kay Hall is secretary to the dean of the Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts. In this role, she will serve as an administrative assistant to Dr. Ken Gabrielse, who joined OBU as the new dean of fine arts during the summer semester. A graduate of Meeker High School, Hall completed work toward a degree in music theater at St. Gregory's University. She previously worked at Northwestern University and University of Central Oklahoma School of Music.
Elizabeth Robertson is secretary for the Division of Language and Literature in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Robertson earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Central Oklahoma. She previously worked at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
In the OBU University Police Department, Teresa Coffman returned to her alma mater as dispatch/switchboard operator. Coffman earned a bachelor's degree from OBU in 1981 and a master's degree from OSU in 1983. The dispatch/switchboard operators are responsible for daily operation of the switchboard for OBU and will dispatch officers for the University Police Department. They also monitor surveillance cameras.

Also in campus safety, Juanita Hascall is a residence facility officer for Taylor Residence Center; Reneé McGee is a residence facility officer for Kerr Dormitory; and Richard Smith is a residence facility officer for Howard Residence Center. Residence facility officers are non-commissioned safety personnel who provide basic safety services to students residing in OBU housing.
Jonathan Wood is a security corporal in University Police. OBU maintains a University Police Department that is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide security and fire prevention services for the university community.
Dorinda Cullum | David Gardner |
Dorinda Cullum and David Gardner have moved from part-time to full-time positions. Cullum is secretary to the dean of the Hurley College of Science and Mathematics. In this capacity, she will serve as administrative assistant to Dr. Debbie Blue, who was named dean of the Hurley College in June 2011. Cullum had previously served as secretary in the Division of Science and Mathematics since June 1997, which was a part-time role during the summer 2011 semester.
Gardner joined the Bison Hill staff as part-time facility assistant for intramurals in Aug. 2011 in OBU's Recreation and Wellness Center (RAWC). His new role is program coordinator for intramurals and recreation on the RAWC staff.
