Senior Receives Recognition for 'Shine' Video
May 10, 2011
OBU senior Timothy Kurtz received an Honorable Mention award for his video at the Broadcast Education Association's Festival of Media Arts convention in April in Las Vegas, Nev.
Kurtz, an electronic media production major from Heber Springs, Ark., will graduate May 13.
At the festival, students entered more than 800 works from around the world in nearly 30 categories. Kurtz is the first OBU student to be recognized by the BEA for his work.
His video, "Shine at OBU," is a promotional video for OBU. It features live action video and animation and condenses the activity of one day at OBU into 90 seconds.
"The professors in my department have always set high expectations for their students," said Kurtz. "In my four years at OBU, I have come to understand that demanding excellence from myself will result in superior opportunities for me as an artist."
After graduation, Kurtz plans to attend graduate school for film and animation production.
