Teacher Education Majors Create Accreditation Display
November 3, 2010
OBU teacher education majors completed an extensive display for a scheduled site visit team by NCATE, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, during the first week of November.
The display is designed to convey a sense of the journey OBU students take from their arrival on campus through completion of the Teacher Education program and graduation. Using photographs, electronic images, and large graphic displays, the students depicted elements of a lighthouse illustration which conveys the conceptual framework of OBU's Teacher Education Division.
OBU student Marcus Crook (right) and Hannah Hays, OBU Web content coordinator, peruse a display designed by teacher education majors for a scheduled site visit team by NCATE, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The OBU community was invited to see the display, which represents the journey students take from their arrival on campus through completion of the Teacher Education program and graduation. Crook is a sophomore Bible major from Earlsboro, Okla.
The division has been accredited since Jan. 1, 1968. It offers recognized programs in early childhood education; elementary education; health, physical education and recreation education; secondary English education; secondary mathematics education; secondary science education; Spanish education; and special education.
