Facilities Management Reorganizes for Efficiency

OBU recently announced a reorganization of its facilities management and services area. The division was renamed Facilities Management, and the structure was changed to incorporate four service areas.
The division is directed by Robert Cash, who joined the OBU staff in 1990 and has directed the facilities management and services area since the spring of 2006.The four area supervisors are Dave Gilmore, Gary Bohannon, Tina Stackhouse and Phil Jarvis.
"The business and administrative services area has been examining its operations this last spring and summer and has made several organizational changes to offer more effective and efficient services to the campus," said Randy Smith, OBU executive vice president for business and administrative services.
"The Facilities Management division was reorganized to align available resources with the facility maintenance, renovation and construction needs of the university as we move forward with OBU 2020," said Smith, noting OBU's strategic plan.

Gilmore now heads the mechanical/electrical trades area, which is responsible for supplying power, lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and pluming to OBU facilities. He previously served as facilities supervisor.
Bohannon leads the building trades area. Under his leadership, carpenters and painters work on maintenance and construction to provide facilities for students and employees. He previously served as carpenter supervisor.
Stackhouse leads the facilities services area which includes grounds, landscaping, vehicle maintenance and utility services. She previously served as grounds supervisor.
Jarvis is now construction services supervisor. He will work closely with Cash on both new construction and remodeling projects to efficiently utilize OBU personnel and outside contractors. Jarvis previously served as a carpenter with the university.
