Outstanding Business Seniors Receive Awards

Nine Oklahoma Baptist University senior business majors received awards for outstanding work during the Paul Dickinson School of Business awards assembly Monday, May 3. Danielle Cummins, a professional accountancy major from Rogers, Ark., was named the Outstanding Overall Senior and the Outstanding Accounting Senior. 

Cummins, who graduated with the scholastic predicate magna cum laude, also was recognized during the Awards Convocation May 5 in Raley Chapel.

Kyle Coleman, a professional accountancy major from Broken Bow, Okla., received the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Student Leadership Award. Kristen Roye, a finance major from Choctaw, Okla., was the recipient of the Economic Club of Oklahoma Scholarship for Outstanding Student in Economics or Finance.

Natalie Brooke Mowery, a finance major from Owasso, Okla., was named Outstanding Finance Senior. Joshua Karr, an international business major from Larkspur, Colo., was named Outstanding International Business Senior.

Braden Echard, a management major from McLoud, Okla., was named Outstanding Management Senior. He graduated with the scholastic designation cum laude. Jamie Burcham, a marketing major from Sand Springs, Okla., was named Outstanding Marketing Senior. She graduated with the designation magna cum laude. Dan Reynolds, a computer science/interdisciplinary: political science major from Oklahoma City, was named Outstanding Computer Science Senior. He graduated with the designation cum laude.

The graduates participated in Spring Commencement Saturday, May 15, in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium. Students graduated with the scholastic predicate summa cum laude for maintaining at least a 3.95 grade point average. Students who maintained at least at 3.70 GPA were designated magna cum laude. Students who maintained at least a 3.40 GPA were designated cum laude.

The Paul Dickinson School of Business is nationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs to offer the following business degrees: bachelor of business administration (BBA) with concentrations in computer information systems, finance, international business, management and marketing; bachelor of science (BS) in computer science; and bachelor of professional accountancy (BPA). The mission of the School of Business is to provide quality Christian-based business education which equips ethical graduates for leadership positions in contemporary professional careers.
