Students 'Mess in the Muck' in Outdoor Classroom

Oklahoma Baptist University student Stephanie Baker (left), a junior from Salida, Colo., and Dr. Jeanne Akin (right), OBU professor of teacher education, assist fourth graders from Grove School, Shawnee, in "Messing in the Muck," a study of macroinvertebrates to determine the health of a nearby pond. The Grove students visited the Shawnee Conservation District's Outdoor Classroom Monday, April 19, where OBU's Division of Education partners to raise awareness of outdoor education. The day also included lessons on "Sensational Seeds" and "Traversing through Trees."
