Bison Hill Welcomes Parents, Siblings on Family Day
September 22, 2009
Parents and siblings of Oklahoma Baptist University students are invited to catch an inside glimpse of life on Bison Hill during Family Day Saturday, Oct. 10.
"This event gives parents and other family members the opportunity to visit with their student and get a glimpse of how his or her transition to campus life is going," said Bobby Canty, OBU dean of students. "We have planned several activities for the day, but at the same time we are leaving plenty of time to visit apart from scheduled events."
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Geiger Center. Parents and students can meet with professors at 11 a.m., followed by lunch in the Laura Scales Cafeteria.
"Kids' College" is a special event designed for students' younger brothers and sisters ages 6-12. The Kids' College activities will be from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the Geiger Center.
Residence halls will be open from 1-5 p.m., allowing family members an opportunity to visit in their students' residence rooms. The OBU Bookstore will be open from Noon-3 p.m. Families also are invited to attend the Lady Bison volleyball game versus Wayland Baptist University at 1 p.m. in the Noble Complex.
Campus Activities Board will wrap up Family Day with Freshman Follies at 8 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium. The annual variety show features skits and other performances presented by members of the freshmen class.
