Flutist, Percussionist to Perform Concert

Oklahoma Baptist University graduate Jennifer Peck will return to her alma mater to perform in recital with Travis Dunlap on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Yarborough Auditorium. The public is invited to attend this free performance.

Peck, a flutist, will play alongside Dunlap, a marimbist, performing such musical numbers as "Rhapsodia for Flute and Marimba" by G. Bradley Bodine, "Carmen Fantaisie" by Geroges Bizet, and "Histoire du Tango" by Astor Piazzolla. The piece "Three Irish Folksongs Settings for Voice and Flute" will also be performed with assistance by Dr. Louima Lilite, tenor OBU assistant professor of music.

A native of Oklahoma City, Peck received her bachelor's degree in instrumental music education from OBU in 2003, attained her master's degree in flute performance from the Boston Conservatory, and is currently pursuing her doctorate in flute performance from the University of Oklahoma.

Peck has played in the Christian Performing Artists' Fellowship's chamber music series as well as playing principal flute with the Warsaw Symphony. She is currently a freelance musician, performing occasionally with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. She also teaches a music course at OU and has served as an adjunct faculty member at OBU since January 2009.

Travis Dunlap received his bachelor's degree from OU in percussion performance and is currently working towards his graduate degree at OU as well. He was a featured guest recitalist in the Showcase Series at the 2006 OKMozart Festival. Winner of the OU School of Music Concerto Contest in 2006, Dunlap has also performed a marimba concerto with the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra.
