Three Professors Join College of Fine Arts

Three professors are joining the faculty of Oklahoma Baptist University's Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts at the commencement of the fall 2009 semester. Corey Fuller is an assistant professor of graphic design; Dr. Casey Gerber is an assistant professor of music education; and Dr. Christy Talbott is an assistant professor of music.

Fuller earned a bachelor's degree in graphic design from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a master's degree in design from the University of Central Oklahoma. He recently served as a graduate assistant, research assistant and adjunct instructor at UCO. He worked as a graphic designer for Legacy Bank from 2001-08.
Gerber earned both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in music education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He earned a doctor of philosophy degree in music education from the University of Mississippi. He earned certification for Orff Level I and Kodály Level III training.
He served as an instructor of music for children and introduction to music education at the University of Mississippi from 2005-09. He was a teacher and choral director for Hillcrest Elementary School in El Reno, Okla., from 1998-2005, and a teacher at WHS Alternative School in Weatherford, Okla., from 1997-98.
Talbott earned a bachelor's degree in music theory/history and religious studies from Hiram College and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Kent State University. She earned a master's degree in music theory from the University of South Florida, and a Ph.D. degree in music theory from The Ohio State University.
She recently served as visiting assistant professor at Ohio University from 2008-09. She was a graduate teaching associate at The Ohio State University from 2004-08 and a graduate teaching assistant at the University of South Florida from 2003-04. From 1984-98, she served as a public school teacher in Florida.
