Nixon Joins School of Business Faculty

Gerry Nixon has joined Oklahoma Baptist University's School of Business faculty as an associate professor of accounting. He will begin teaching with the fall semester which commences Aug. 26.
Nixon earned an associate degree from York College in York, Neb.; a bachelor's degree in accounting from Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma City; and an MBA from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
He came to OBU from Oklahoma Christian University where he worked since 2006. He served as the budget director and an adjunct professor, responsible for the development and implementation of the school's annual budget. He also taught in the MBA program.
Previously, Nixon served as vice president for finance, associate professor of accounting, and athletic director at Cascade College in Portland, Ore., from 2004-06. He was an associate professor of accounting, vice president for finance and operations, and athletic director at York College from 1992-2004. He was a partner/shareholder with Mierau and Nixon, CPAs, PC, in Nebraska from 1988-92. He started his career at OCU as controller and assistant professor from 1980-88.
Nixon and his wife, Janet, have two grown children, Jonathan and Katie.
