OBU to Present 'Red, White and Biggie' Production
September 16, 2008
Oklahoma Baptist University's Campus Activities Board will present their first production of the year Saturday, Sept. 20, with "Red, White and Biggie," a talent showcase presented by upperclassmen. The show begins at 8 p.m. in the Potter Auditorium of Raley Chapel on campus. The public is invited to attend the free event.
The American-theme show is directed by OBU seniors Lindsey Faught, from Oklahoma City, and Gabe Yandell, from Euless, Texas.
"We decided to go with 'Red, White, and Biggie' for several reasons: because it is an Olympic year, it's an election year, and last year's show was entitled 'British Biggie,' so we thought it would add a nice contrast to that," Faught said. "We thought it would be a very appropriate theme for the time."
Campus Activities Board (CAB) conducted auditions last week for the show's emcees and acts. CAB and Biggie participants will spend the two nights before the show rehearsing for the anticipated event.
Emcees include OBU students Melissa Krauss, Joseph Petrella, Tim Kurtz, Dillon Chilcoat and Cassandra Louisa. Performers include juniors David Stephens and Matt Longacre; Braden Echard; Micah McCaslin; Zach Coffey and Ian Hockett; Lindsay Inman; and Jee Choi. Sophomore performers Mikey Powers; The Bison Boys; Parker Jackson; and Julie Lewis will complete the talent showcase.
CAB also will host "Freshmen Follies," a production dedicated to performances by freshmen students, on Oct. 25.
