OBU Adds Santana Torres

Oklahoma Baptist University has added Wichita Falls High School standout Santana Torres to the 2008-09 squad.

Torres, the daughter of Derral and Veronica Torres, will run the 400 and relays for the Lady Bison. She holds school records in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays and qualified for regionals in the 400 meters her senior season.

Torres also is a four-time regional qualifier in the 4x100 and 4x200 and a three-time region qualifier in the 4x400. She was named Most Outstanding Athlete at WFHS.

Torres said the high academic standards were the chief reason she selected OBU and added "the staff members and students are very nice and they do everything possible to make sure OBU is where you end up!"
