McCavitt Signs Indy League Contract

Oklahoma Baptist University closer Jordan McCavitt signed an Independent League contract with the Texarkana Gunslingers of the Continental Baseball League.

The CBL also includes teams from Texas City, McKinney and Corpus Christi, Texas.

McCavitt finished off his senior season at OBU as the team's closer and tied a school record with 33 appearances on the season. He was 8-2 with a 3.23 earned run average, leading the team in both ERA and wins.

He also had three saves.

McCavitt was the All-Sooner Athletic Conference and All-NAIA Region VI relief pitcher.
