OBU Strong at Sooner Twilight

Oklahoma Baptist University's track athletes hit 17 qualifying standards and two new provisional marks, including the best performances of the season by eight individuals this year at the Sooner Twilight Meet Saturday.
The men's 200 meters saw winner Dominique Matthews lead a trio of best times for OBU this season in that event. Matthews won in 21.20, while Ethan Mignard was third with his best time at 21.46 and Derek Nettles fifth with his best mark - 21.52.
Lamar Baskin was second in the 110 hurdles with his best time of the season at 14.16 seconds. OBU also had qualifying marks in the 400 hurdles by Tracey Drew (52.49) and Baskin (53.60).
OBU also saw qualifying marks of less value than earlier performances by the 4x100 relay team (41.04), 4x400, (3:16.75), pole vaulter Seth Brown (15-7).
For the Lady Bison, Sherene Pinnock improved on her time in the 200 meters at 23.92 and the 4x100 relay team also had its best time of the season at 46.63.
Pinnock won the 400 hurdles in 59.71 seconds with Montouya Moore third at 1:03.17. Also in that event, Optimum Baker (1:03.35) and McKenzie Battershell (1:04.14) qualified with their best times of the season.
Battershell also had a provisional time of 15.24 in the 100 meter hurdles.
Marissa Moseley had a qualifying time of 54.98 in the 400 meters and the 4x400 relay team won in 3:50.87. Both Moseley and the 4x400 have had better times this season.
OBU begins action in the NAIA National Championships Thursday, May 22.
