May 8, 2008
Oklahoma Baptist suffered its worst loss of the season at the hands of fourth-ranked Oklahoma City, 25-2, in the NAIA Region VI Tournament Thursday.
The loss puts OBU in a 2:30 p.m. elimination game Friday against Texas Wesleyan University. The winner will play the loser of the 11 a.m. game, which pits OCU against No. 1 Lubbock Christian.
The Stars jumped out on OBU early and often, jacking six home runs along the way.
OBU scored in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Billy Thomas and added a solo home run by Mason Reilly in the seventh.
The Bison had seven hits in the game, including two each by Thomas and Chris Chambers.
For the Bison to keep the season alive, they must win four consecutive games, including some combination of three wins against two of the top four teams in the NAIA.
