April 8, 2008
Oklahoma City took a pair from the Oklahoma Baptist softball team Tuesday, 7-3 and 4-0.
In the first game, OBU fell behind 2-0 before tying the game in the third inning when Jayme Boyer and Kaley Dickerson scored on a two-run double by Brooke Stevens.
The Stars piled on four runs in the top of the fourth.
The Lady Bison added a run on an RBI single by Brittney Day in the sixth.
Stevens and Day led OBU's seven-hit output with two hits each. Boyer had a double in the game.
Alicia Avilla (3-5) took the loss.
The second game saw two large opportunities go by the boards for OBU in the second and third innings. Each of those frames witnessed the Lady Bison load the bases with one out, failing to score both times.
OCU then punced for four runs in the fourth with the big blow being a two-run home run by Amanda Howard.
The Lady Bison finished with four hits, including a double off the wall into the 30 mile-per-hour wind by Dickerson. Boyer, Bobbi Day and Vanessa Fortune all had singles.
