Lady Bison Split at Northwestern

Oklahoma Baptist split two games in Alva with Northwestern Oklahoma State, lsoing the opener 8-5 before claiming the second game 6-3.
Jami Pate singled and eventually scored on a passed ball in the top of the first inning of the first game, but the Lady Rangers scored three in the bottom of the inning and never trailed from there.
OBU added a run in the sixth in an RBI single by Brittney Day and tacked on three in the seventh on a two-run double by Kaley Dickerson and an RBI single by Brooke Stevens.
Alyssa Henkes was 4-for-4 in the game while Dickerson and Day had two hits each in OBU's 11-hit offense.
Sonya Beach (7-12) took the loss for the Lady Bison.
Northwestern took a 2-0 lead after the first inning of the second game, but the Lady Bison scored in the third to make it 2-1. Pate singled and later scored on an error.
Day had an RBI triple and scored on a base hit by Hilary Davis to take a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth.
Jayme Boyer had an RBI double and Day an RBI single, while a third run scored on an error in a three-run seventh for OBU.
Pate and Boyer had three hits each in the game while Day had two as OBU again produced 11 hits.
Alicia Avilla (3-3) picked up the win in relief.
Now 17-21 overall and 6-6 in the SAC, the Lady Bison host third-ranked Lubbock Christian Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
