April 18, 2008
Oklahoma Baptist University's ninth-inning rally fell a run shy at fourth-ranked Oklahoma City, resulting in a 3-2 Bison loss Friday.
The Stars scored three runs on eight hits but didn't break a scoreless tie until the fifth inning when Garret Reagan came up with an RBI single off starter Josh Palmer (3-3). The Stars made it 3-0 in the sixth with a pair of throwing errors ahead of a sacrifice fly by Caleb Annesley and an RBI ground out by Brandon Moss.
The ninth-inning rally began with Chris Chambers being hit by a pitch, followed by a one-out single by Christian Ruiz. With two outs, Josh Kirkpatrick singled to load the bases.
Billy Thomas drove in both Bison runs with a single to left, which moved the tying run into scoring position. Garrett Parker got Kyle Cooper on a fly ball to right field to end the game.
OBU had seven hits in the game, led by Ruiz with two.
Now 34-10 overall and 16-9 in SAC, the Bison host the Stars in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday.
