Bison Add Steinmetz
April 10, 2008
Oklahoma Baptist University has added 6-6 Seminole State College guard Garrett Steinmetz to the men's basketball roster for the 2008-09 season.
Steinmetz was MVP of the 2005 State Tournament for Fort Cobb-Broxton and led the team back to the finals in 2006. He made All-State in 2006 and played in the 2006 Faith 7 Game at OBU, averaging 25 points and 13 rebounds.
Recruited out of high school by Texas Christian and Air Force, Steinmetz was a second-team All-Conference pick in 2007 at Seminole State and scored 13.5 points per game in limited action in 2008, due to injury.
The Trojans were fifth in the national tournament his freshman year after winning the Region II Championship.
Prior to the 2007-08 season, Steinmetz was a Mullins Top 120 Junior College honoree.
