Softball Drops Two in Alabama
March 14, 2008
Oklahoma Baptist came up short against a pair of Top 25 teams in the Gulf Coast Invitational Friday, losing to No. 21 Thomas 7-2 and No. 7 Shorter 10-1.
OBU freshman Sonya Beach got her first college home run and Kaley Dickerson singled home a run for the Lady Bison in the loss to Thomas, which was two hours late in starting, due to rain.
Vanessa Fortune had two hits to pace OBU's eight-hit attack.
OBU lost the second game, 10-1, getting only a solo home run by Beach in the second inning to temporarily tie the score.
The Lady Bison play Spring Hill at 1 p.m. and Columbia College at 5 p.m. Saturday.
