Samuels Signs to Play Volleyball at OBU

Gabrielle 'Gabby' Samuels will play her college volleyball at Oklahoma Baptist University after signing last week with the Lady Bison.

Able to play outside hitter, defensive specialist and libero, the 5-4 Samuels was a four-year All-Conference and All-State at Community Christian School. The daughter of Miguel and Gretchen Samuels, Gabby made the NCSAA All-Tournament team in 2007. A 2007 Wendy's High School Heisman school winner, Samuels also was a 2008 All-State and NCSAAA All-Tournament basketball player.

Off the hardwoods, Samuels is a 2007-08 National Society of High School Scholars member and was elected Miss Executive by the CCS student body.

Samuels said she chose OBU because of "Coach Anna Monsen and I really like the good campus environment."

Samuels will be competing on OBU's first volleyball team since 1987.
