Baseball Sweeps USAO

Oklahoma Baptist recorded a double-header sweep of USAO, 14-4 and 6-1.
The Bison had their streak of double-digit scoring games stopped at six games, but moved to 5-0 in the SAC, while handing USAO their first conference losses.
OBU won the first game, playing from behind in the first two innings.
The Drovers scored two in the first for a 2-0 lead with a pair of unearned runs. OBU tied the game in the bottom of the first with an RBI double by Mason Reilly and a sacrifice fly by Chris Chambers.
USAO took a 4-2 lead in the top of the second on a two-run home run by Ryan Birney, but OBU bounced back with an eight-run second.
Christian Ruiz and Josh Collazo both singled home two runs each, Josh Kirkpatrick had a sacrifice fly and Frank Avilla doubled home another run. Two more scored on an error for a 10-4 lead.
OBU added four in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the run rule. Kyle Cooper had a sac fly, Collazo added a two-run double and Chambers singled home pinch runner Eric Neff with the game-ender.
Adam Garner (3-0) picked up the complete-game win.
Avilla had three hits and Billy Thomas and Collazo had two each.
OBU took a 3-0 lad in the first inning of the second game on an RBI double by Reilly and a two-run home run by Collazo, his eighth homer of the season.
Cooper and Collazo added RBI singles in the second for a 5-0 lead.
USAO made it 5-1 in the top of the fourth, but gave a run back in the fifth on an error to make it 6-1.
Josh Palmer (1-0) picked up the win, going six innings and allowing one run on four hits.
Collazo had three hits and Avilla had two for the Bison.
OBU plays a makeup game at USAO Sunday at 2 p.m.
