The Princeton Review Names OBU A "Best Value College"
April 7, 2006
Listed among 150 colleges with "excellent academics, generous financial aid packages and relatively low costs," Oklahoma Baptist University is one of the nation's best value undergraduate institutions according to a new book from The Princeton Review.
The New York-based education services company features OBU in the new 2007 edition of its book America's Best Value Colleges. OBU is one of only 47 private colleges listed in the book. The university is joined by three other Oklahoma colleges: University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University and Oklahoma State University.
"We considered more than 30 factors to rate the colleges in four categories: academics, 'tuition grade point average' (the sticker price minus average amount students receive in scholarships and grants), financial aid (how well colleges meet students' financial need) and student borrowing.," said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's vice president for publishing. "We recommend the 150 schools in this book as America's best college education deals for 2006."
The Princeton Review chose the colleges for the book based on data the company obtained from administrators at 646 colleges, and its surveys of students attending them. The Princeton Review is known for its test-prep courses, books and college and graduate school admissions services. The company is not affiliated with Princeton University or ETS.
