There was no emotional hangover for the Lady Bison Saturday after upsetting fourth-ranked Union the night before and Oklahoma Baptist cruised to an 89-41 win over Manhattan Christian University.
Freshman Jennifer Jupin produced her best game of the season, coming off the bench with 18 points on seven of 10 shooting to lead the Lady Bison. OBU non-starters scored 50 points in the game with Rachel Heins getting another 16 for the Lady Bison bench.
Non-starter Yaniris Ferreras led the team with 11 rebounds .
OBU completely dominated the rebounding category 53-31, including 20 offensive rebounds. The Lady Bison had 20 second-chance points. The hosts also forced 25 turnovers resulting in 31 points.
Joining Jupin and Heins in double figures were Lena Brenning with 14 points and Dilenny Castillo with 11.
The Lady Bison improved to 8-0 on the season and 2-0 against Manhattan Christian all-time. The first meeting was a 134-13 OBU victory in 1996 in which Summer Terry set the single-game scoring mark at 51 points for the Lady Bison.
OBU will play at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, against Park College in the Lady Bison's final non-conference home game. OBU will then play two games at Park College Dec. 17 and 19 against Columbia and Park. The game with Columbia, originally scheduled for 6 p.m., has been bumped up to 5:30 p.m.
