Oklahoma Baptist University's fledgling men's soccer program is headed to Florida and the NAIA National Championship.
The NAIA bracket was released late Saturday night and OBU is the No. 10 seed for the tournament in Daytona Beach. The Bison will play at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, against the defending NAIA champions and No. 7 seed, Lindenwood University from Missouri.
Lindenwood carries a record of 10-5-4 into the 20-team tournament while the Bison are 15-5-1. The only common opponent for the teams was Mobile. Lindenwood defeated the Rams 2-0 in Missouri while the Bison forged a 1-1 tie in Alabama.
Should OBU defeat Lindenwood in the single-elimination tournament, the Bison would play Saturday at 5 p.m. against second-seeded Lindsey Wilson, 15th-seeded Judson or 18th-seeded Concordia (Ore.).
Four of the Bison's five losses this season have come to teams in the tournament, including two to Southern Nazarene and one each to Auburn-Montgomery and Azusa Pacific.
The Bison, coached by Marcelo Galvao, won 14 games last season and came two wins short of reaching the NAIA Tournament last season.
