The Lady Bison rolled up their first 100-point game since the 2003-04 season, in a 103-62 season-opening rout over Sterling College.
It was the best single-game output since the 1995-96 campaign and it came impressively enough against the No. 11 NAIA Division II team that returned its leading scorer and its assist leader.
After scoring just one basket (a Lena Brenning lay-up) in the first 2:20, OBU used a three-point play by Dilenny Castillo and a 9-2 run fueled by five Tabetha Eaton points to build a 14-2 lead at the 14:46 mark.
Sterling closed to within 28-22 before the Lady Bison closed the half with a 16-5 run for a 44-27 halftime advantage.
The Lady Warriors never got closer than 15 points in the second half.
The Lady Bison used a 12-0 run with five points from Rachel Heins to take a 98-55 lead and Erin Pickering canned a three-pointer to put OBU over the century mark with 1:53 to play.
Heins led OBU with 23 points off the bench, including 4-of-4 shooting from behind the arch. Eaton and freshman Jennifer Jupin had 14 each, Keely Tolin had 11 points and seven assists, Tamara Whitley had 11 points and Brenning added 10. Yaniris Ferreras had a game-high 11 rebounds.
Rachel Jones led Sterling with a dozen points.
OBU shot 55 percent from the field, including 71 percent (12-17) from three-point range.
The Lady Bison will play next on Nov. 12 against East Central at 1:30 p.m.
