Oklahoma Baptist University's Lady Bison soccer team upped its Sooner Athletic Conference win streak to four games before the Bison settled for a scoreless tie against visiting St. Gregory's Friday.
The OBU women improved to 4-2 in the SAC standings and 11-2-1 overall with the victory, which saw OBU cruise after a 3-0 halftime lead.
Hilary Hendrickson outmaneuvered three defenders to get off a shot on goal. St. Gregory's keeper Mary Pavliska got her fingertips on the shot but could only deflect it to the post, where it caromed in for a 1-0 Lady Bison lead in the 22nd minute.
Kara McGrenera scored 11 minutes later, booting home a goal off a rebound from Autumn Oury's shot.
Lauren Aldred scored with 2:40 left in the first half on a free kick for the 3-0 advantage.
The Lady Bison added the final foal in the 80th minute with Katya Arruda scoring on a feed from Hendrickson. The goal was Arruda's 13th of the season, leaving her one shy of her school record from last season.
Maira Negri got the shut-out in goal for OBU with two saves.
The Bison, ranked ninth in the nation, were somewhat stunned by St. Gregory's. The Cavaliers got seven saves from Robert McKnight as OBU collected just 15 shots to SGU's 11 in the double-overtime contest.
The game was plagued by 66 fouls, including 44 on the Cavaliers, and 12 yellow cards (seven on OBU).
The Bison are now 12-3-2 on the season and 3-0-1 in the SAC.
Quinn Will shut out the Cavaliers on one save, with Joao Acedo blanking SGU in the overtime periods with one save.
The regular season ends Tuesday with John Brown visiting Shawnee.
