Oklahoma Baptist University will present its annual Choral Ensembles Fall Concert on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium. The concert will feature the Chapel Choir, the Bison Glee Club, the Bisonettes and the University Chorale.
The Chapel Choir is directed by Dr. Lee Hinson, associate professor of church music; the Bison Glee Club and the University Chorale are directed by Dr. David DeSeguirant, associate professor of music and director of choral activities; and the Bisonettes are directed by Dr. Darla Eshelman, associate professor of music education.
"This concert is an excellent showcase in what is happening in choral music at OBU," said Hinson .
The concert will feature a variety of song selections including spirituals and hymns as well as compositions by composers from the Renaissance, Romantic, and Post-Romantic periods.
The Bison Glee Club, Bisonettes and Chorale will combine forces for the final song selections based on Psalm 133 and Jude 1:24-25.
"This concert is significant," said DeSeguirant. "It represents one of the few times the choral organizations have been able to unify their efforts for an event outside of our Homecoming Gala and Hanging of the Green Christmas Concert."
