After ending their Sooner Athletic Conference drought on Monday, the Oklahoma Baptist University soccer team is rolling.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University fell to the Lady Bison Tuesday, 3-1, give the OBU women a two-game win streak, an even SAC mark at 2-2 and a 9-2-1 overall record. Both conference wins have come in road games.
Autumn Oury broke a scoreless tie, scoring in the 29th minute with an assist from Carissa Watson. That lead stood through the remainder of the half.
Senior Angie King drove home her first goal of the season, coming with an assist from Kara McGrenera in the77th minute for a 2-0 lead. The lead swelled to 3-0 in the 84th minute when Lauren Aldred whistled home a free kick.
A desperate Northwestern squad broke up the shutout with 80 seconds left in the game.
"We came out a little flat in the first half, but after that second goal we sort of came to life," said Bison coach Marcelo Galvao. "It was a pretty good game for us."
OBU returns to action Tuesday at Southern Nazarene where the Lady Bison will try to extend their win streak and the men's team plays for regional superiority. That doubleheader begins at 6 p.m. in Bethany.
