Lady Bison Collect SAC Win

Oklahoma Baptist University's Lady Bison soccer team came away with its first-ever Sooner Athletic Conference victory and cinched its first winning season overall with a 1-0 double-overtime win at Oklahoma City University Saturday.
Hilary Hendrickson, working with a feed from Kara McGrenera and Cara Zalenski, caught Stars keeper Megan Griffin out of goal and scored the golden goal in the 108th minute, with 2:35 left in the game.
Maira Negri collected six saves for the shut-out victory.
With the win, the OBU women improve to 8-2-1 overall and 1-2 in the SAC with five regular season games remaining. The victory ended a nine-game winless streak against the Sooner Athletic Conference. OBU had one tie against USAO last season and was 0-8-1 all-time in SAC contests before the road trip to OCU.
The Lady Bison play Tuesday at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
The Bison completed the sweep with a 3-0 victory that upped their SAC record to 3-0 on the season.
Marcos Silva scored with an assist from Pablo Campos in the 14th minute for a 1-0 lead.
Campos made it 2-0 from nine yards out with an assist from Aduato Oliveira in the 26th minute and OBU took the 2-0 lead into halftime.
Silva scored the final goal in the 49th minute with an assist from Fabio Pires.
Joao Acedo picked up the shut-out in goal, collecting one save.
OBU will play a doubleheader Oct. 18 at Southern Nazarene in a clash that could determine home field in the postseason.
