Bison Sweep Southwestern Kansas

The OBU soccer teams took two matches at Southwestern College in Kansas Tuesday with the men recording a blowout and the women rallying for a 3-2 win.
The Moundbuilder women took a 1-0 lead before Katya Arruda scored on a goal on a great finish off an assist from Autumn Oury. Southwestern went ahead 2-1 in the 25th minute.
With three minutes left in the half, Kara McGrenera got the ball to Sara Williams, who ripped a long shot over the keeper's head and in for the tying goal.
Oury and Williams then set Arruda up nicely for the winning goal, coming in the 57th minute.
Maira Negri had six saves in the game and OBU out-shot Southwestern 15-10.
The win moved the Lady Bison to 5-0-1 for the season.
The Bison rested several starters on the Kansas trip and eased to a 6-0 win wit Taizo Kasuya scoring two goals.
Kasuya, working with a feed from Sandy Robiero, beat the Moundbuilder keeper one on one for a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.
Elcio Freitas back-heeled a goal behind his front leg on a cross from Elton Silva in the 35th minute for a 2-0 lead.
Fabio Pires and Marcos Silva set up Kasuya's second goal, which Kasuya headed in for a 3-0 lead in the 58th minute.
Nickson Odeny headed in a corner kick from Elton Silva in the 73rd minute for the 4-0 advantage.
Three minutes later, Jake Stehr had his first collegiate goal after a corner by Elton Silva and a header by Mike Calkins.
Brett Jackson tapped in the final goal after Kyle Van Syoc's free kick went through the keeper's hands.
Joao Acedo has two saves. OBU out-shot the Moundbuilders 25-5.
The victory put the No. 13 Bison at 7-2-1 for the season.
OBU hosts Sterling College on Friday and McPherson College on Saturday.
