Peguero Drafted by Royals

Oklahoma Baptist University's Felix Peguero has been drafted by the Kansas City Royals.
Peguero, a senior right fielder from Riverdale, Md., was drafted by the Royals in the 28th round. He was the 832nd player selected in the draft.
Peguero batted .315 for the season with a team-best 18 home runs and 74 RBI. He established a new single-season record for home runs in a season and was just five off the record for RBI.
The Royals, in the 29th round, drafted Brandon Brantley of USAO.
Peguero was the third Sooner Athletic Conference player taken in the draft. Lubbock Christian pitcher John Herrera was taken by Oakland in the 10th round. Colby Overstreet of Oklahoma City University was taken in the 27th round by the Los Angeles Angels.
