OBU Places Five on All-SAC Softball Team

Oklahoma Baptist University had five softball players named to the All-Sooner Athletic Conference team, which was announced Wednesday.
Senior Katy Thurber, junior Amanda Zahara and freshman Allison Ramzy were named to the First Team. Junior Cathy Nitz and freshman Brooke Stevens were named Second Team.
Thurber, a third baseman from Bixby, batted .344 with four home runs and 30 runs batted in. She completed her four-year OBU career second in all-time hits, runs, RBI and home runs. Thurber had a team-best 13 doubles on the season.
Zahara, a pitcher from Sexsmith, Alberta, was 15-15 on the season with a 2.03 earned run average. Her 39 appearances and 209 innings of work are the second highest single season totals in both categories.
Ramzy, an outfielder from Garland, Texas, batted a team-best .403 and led the team with three triples.
Nitz, a first baseman from Dewey, batted .314 with a team-best seven home runs and 32 runs betted in.
Stevens, a designated player from Langley, British Columbia, batted .333 with five home rusn and 21 RBI.
