Frankie Ibarra tied the OBU single season doubles record with his 26th two-bagger of the year and the Bison cruised to a 10-0 run-rule victory over Wayland Baptist in the first round of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Wednesday at Bison Field.
Brent Terrell pitched the four-hit shut-out to improve to 10-2 on the season. Terrell walked one and struck out eight.
OBU jumped on Wayland Baptist ace Taylor Allen for four runs in the first inning on a two-run single by Danny Guidry, an RBI single by Nick Bakich and an RBI triple by Rett Terrell.
Guidry added an RBI double and Felix Peguero an RBI single as OBU built the lead to 6-0 in the second inning.
Ibarra drove home a run on a fielders choice in the fourth. In the fifth, Rett Terrell scored on a double steal and Kip Keith singled home a run for a 9-0 advantage. Ibarra tacked on an RBI single in the seventh for the final margin.
Keith, Guidry and Aaron Dickson had three hits each and Ibarra added two in the Bison's 14-hit attack.
The Bison (43-18) will play Lubbock Christian at 4 p.m. Thursday.
