OBU Gets Four Wins at Drake Relays

Oklahoma Baptist University's track team had its best showing ever at the Drake Relays, claiming four event championships at the prestigious meet.
The Drake Relays awards watches for first place finishes and alarm clocks for second place finishers.
"We got 13 watches and eight alarm clocks," said OBU coach Ford Mastin. "We ought to be pretty good at telling time."
The Lady Bison 4x800 relay team of Chandra Huckabay, Melissa Mount, Kyli Bean and Kyta Ferrer won in a school-record time of 8:53.65.
The women's sprint medley relay team of Sara Thurber, Keyonna Hornbuckle, Bean and Ferrer won with a time of 3:52.87.
Ferrer also won in the 800 meters at 2:07.88.
The 4x400 relay team of Hornbuckle, Mount, Ferrer and Bean took second in 3:46.47.
The men's 4x400 team of Clint Goodson, Pat Brown, T.J. Lightsey and Leonarde Smith won in a time of 3:10.47.
Prophet Bailey, Michael Elizondo, Bryce Bell and Landon Willets took second in the 4x800 relay in 7:33.87.
Brown also was third in the 110 high hurdles at 14.07 seconds.
