OBU Sweeps Oklahoma Wesleyan

OBU Softball gathered a sweep at Oklahoma Wesleyan, 9-0, 11-0, Tuesday.
Catherine Eimen hit two home runs and drove home five in the opener, while Melissa Martinez added an RBI double and Katy Thurber an RBI single.
Ashley Howard had three singles for OBU with Cathy Nitz and Martinez joining Eimen with two hits each. The Lady Bison cranked out 11 hits in the game.
Amanda Zahara tossed a four-hit shutout with eight strikeouts to improve to 4-1 on the season. Her lone loss was to Oklahoma State.
OBU launched three home runs in the second game. Nitz hit her fourth round-tripper of the season, Sandralina Rones connected for her third — a solo shot, and Michelle Asmundson got her first of the season.
Allison Ramzy had a pair of doubles that produced three RBI and added a sacrifice fly for a fourth. Thurber also had an RBI sacrifice. Brett Swofford doubled home two runs.
Nitx paced the offense with three hits, while Rones, Howard, Asmundson, Swofford and Ramzy had two each.
Howard picked up the win on her two-hit shutout to move to 2-2 on the season.
OBU will play OWU and Mid-Continent College in a two-day classic at OBU this weekend.
