OBU Softball Opens with Loss

STILLWATER - Oklahoma Baptist University's softball season opened with a 9-0 loss to Oklahoma State University Thursday night.
The Cowgirls held OBU to three singles - one each by senior Katy Thurber, junior Amanda Zahara and freshman Allison Ramzy.
"Our hitting is a little behind right now, but it's going to come around," said OBU coach Pam Fink.
OSU broke open a scoreless tie with five runs in the third on a three-run double by Megan Carey, an RBI single by Jennie Killman and a wild pitch for a 5-0 lead.
The Cowgirls added four more in the fourth on a solo home run by Stephanie Nicholson, an RBI single by Killman, an error and an RBI ground out by Shainne Cruce.
OBU, 0-1, will play at East Central Saturday.
