OBU Soccer, Cross Country Athletes Honored at Banquet

Oklahoma Baptist University soccer and cross country athletes were honored at the first-ever Fall Sports Banquet Monday, Dec. 6.
For the first time, OBU and the Bison Athletic Association opted to do away with a single-night Athletics Banquet for all sports. In addition to the Fall Sports Banquet, there will be a banquet for basketball and cheerleaders in mid-Spring and a Spring Sports Banquet in late Spring.
Each athlete was highlighted in a power point presentation Monday and several individual awards were presented.
In men's soccer, Amaury Nunes was named Most Valuable Offensive Player and Elijah Mwansanga was named Most Valuable Defensive Player. Kyle Megenity and John Cook were named Most Valuable Teammates and Fabio Pires was the team MVP. Brent Coates was presented the Coach's Award.
Katya Arruda was named Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Offensive Player in women's soccer. Jamie Marshall was Most Valuable Defensive Player and Angie King was named Most Valuable Teammate.
In men's cross country, Theron Stoltzfus was named Most Improved Runner and Daniel Ellis won the MVP Award.
In women's cross country, Mirriam Kaumba won the MVP Award and Rebecca Brock was Most Improved.
